Organizations build on successful collaboration

FALLS CHURCH, VA: The Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA) announced that it has partnered with equity research and consulting firm Thompson Research Group (TRG) to produce quarterly reports that provide strategic industry data and analyses for the cold-formed steel (CFS) industry.

TRG, which focuses its research and consulting expertise on the construction and industrial sectors, will collect, aggregate and analyze the data for the reports, which track movements in the volumes of steel used in the United States to manufacture major types of CFS products.

The partnership extends and builds upon a working relationship that SFIA and TRG first established in 2014 which has included presentations and educational programs for SFIA members on market conditions and factors affecting the cold-formed steel framing industry.

“This new alliance leverages the strengths of both organizations to generate a new and unique class of detailed industry analyses that will provide the best, most current information to industry planners and decision-makers,” said Larry Williams, Executive Director of the Steel Framing Industry Association. “SFIA is extremely pleased to take this next step in expanding our successful collaboration with TRG.”

Kathryn Thompson, Thompson Research Group CEO, noted that the quarterly format allows manufacturers, builders and other stakeholders to take advantage of the latest information throughout the business cycle.

“Access to current, accurate data enables buyers and users of CFS to anticipate market shifts that can have profound effects on their businesses,” said Thompson. “These reports provide insights into the market that are unavailable elsewhere.
