Fire-rated CFS assembly listings:  It doesn’t (always) come easy

It shouldn’t be this hard – interpreting UL and other assembling listings for cold-formed steel assemblies.  Afterall, we’ve been successfully using CFS framing for decades to construct strong and safe structures in buildings where codes require fire- rated assemblies.  Yet, this is an area where SFIA repeatedly receives inquiries about how to interpret, select, and construct rated assemblies. 

SFIA is pleased to present a webinar on fire-rated assemblies with CFS framing.  Join us on August 18 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (EDT) for this informative 1-hour presentation.  In addition to an overview of the benefits of CFS, the speaker will address various types of fire tests, selection of an appropriate cold-formed steel assembly, integration with other fire resistive assemblies, continuity and code compliance, and interpreting UL and other listings.

About the Presenter

Robert Grupe has spent over 38 years with United States Gypsum Company. During his time at USG, he has held various technical and management positions, including product and system design and technical consultation to the AEC community. He is currently the Program General Manager for the Steel Framing Industry Association as well as the Director of Technical Services for the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI).
